EXPERIENCE
1998–present UCSB Student Information Systems & Technologies
Graphic Artist & Web Developer
Student Information Systems and Technologies (SIS&T) provides a full range of services to the Student Affairs Division (with more than 5000 employees in 28 departments ranging from Admissions and Enrollment Services to Arts & Lectures) and their constituencies, including automation of business processes and self-service applications for UCSB faculty and staff, 21,000 enrolled students, 50,000 applicants (annually), multiple external organizations, and increasing number of parents, community members, alumni, and donors via the internet. SIS&T has developed and supports more than 80 web applications and complex mission-critical information systems.
While also doing team based ASP.NET (VB) development, I served as the principal web and graphic designer for websites within the Student Affairs Division. While serving as the primary web designer, I created the brand identity for Divisional pages, I administered project creation from requirements to testing, and I created and coded the look and feel for websites and applications, including role based navigation structures. I also managed and mentored student assistants, served as a Co-Chair on UCSB’s Web Standards Group, and I served as a Macintosh Help Desk Specialist. I have vast experience with Cascading Style Sheets, testing and coding for ADA Compliance, Browser compatibility, HTML, ASP, ASP.NET (VB), PHP, JavaScript, and SQL Server Backend.
